Just came across local news. Colorado baker, who didn't want to bake a wedding cake for two men, in trouble again because he doesn't want to bake a cake for a man who is becoming a woman. Does this look like persecution of an individual because of his beliefs?
And, if I remember right, this Colorado guy won his case, right? Unlike the Portland couple, and apparently IIRC, the win in Colorado did not and will not affect the Portland couple. Anyway, this Colorado baker who did win was a idiot to stay. He should have left while he was ahead. They will not leave him alone until he is beaten and broke.
Man who refused to bake for gay wedding faces fresh lawsuit over transgender cake Baker who refused to make gay wedding cake sues again over gender transition cake More to follow.....
So, next will be the baker who refuses to make a pornographic cake, the a bestiality cake, then who knows what... I guess you can take down the "No Skirt, No Shoes, No Service" and "We Reserve the Right To Refuse Service To Anyone" signs because, they are now meaningless.
I wish someone would come to me and DEMAND that I sell them a FireArm, and when I tell them “ No”. they try and Sue me, under some consept similar to this case...
Yep, but under the GCA of 1968 as Amended I can refuse to transfer a FireArm to ANYONE, If I deam them to be a Possible Non-Compliant Individual...
The Rainbow community is hurting themselves doing this type of crap. I would like to think that it is simply some gold diggers but it appears to be organized so... For every action there is a reaction and the pendulum swings only so far before it reverses. Most of the good that has come from their movement has been reversed by these idiotic and unfair law suits and they certainly have lost public approval and support.
Ain't that Rainbow community them dope smoking , pill poppin' , acid tripping , hippies that travel around and trash the areas they camp out in ?
This makes normal people like me who have no problem with people being gay or transgender as long as they don’t involve me in it personally totally dislike the lgbt community. Also, just so people know my sister is gay, and I have friends who are both gay and trans so it is not that I dislike lgbt people. I just feel that people shouldn’t be able to force a christian (or muslim or jewish etc) baker who is sole proprietor of their business to make a cake for something against their religion. Now if it was a baker worked for a corporation then the company can force them to make the cake as part of their continued employment. Maybe I should ask the muslim baker to bake a hanukkah cake for me next year and see what happens. If they refuse do you think the liberals will step in to help me? I am not currently Jewish but willing to convert to give this a shot.
It looks like an opportunity to me. If there is so much demand for LGBTQ type bakery goods, why hasn't some member of that community stepped up and started a bakery to cater (no play on words intended) to that community?
@mysterymet "I just feel that people shouldn’t be able to force a Christian (or Muslim or Jewish etc.) baker who is sole proprietor of their business to make a cake for something against their religion." You nailed it and I totally agree. And, I agree that if it was a corporation that massed produced cakes or etc. it would be different. Hell, they could tell one of the other bakers who isn't a practicing Christian or atheist or etc. to make it. I am not sure if I agree "force them to make the cake as part of their continued employment" because it is still asking them to choose between their religion or trouble but I do see your point and it does take the blame off the individual but the individual might not see it that way.
This says it all: Autumn Scardina, a Denver attorney whose practice includes family, personal injury, insurance and employment law, filed the Colorado complaint — saying that Phillips refused her request for a gender transition cake in 2017. His other case was still working its way through the courts and now an attorney says he refused to make her a cake in 2017. A certain community seems to be after him because they cannot accept the fact that they lost.
