Heads up Monkeys, you need to read this!

Welp, Brandon did it to us good this time, mandating the addition of MORE ethanol to our automotive fuel, bringing a host of major issues with it!
The U. S Coast Guard has issued a warning to all boaters, not only to NOT purchase gasoline containing more then 10% Ethanol, but that it's also illegal under Fed. Law to use it on the water! In many parts of the country, you cannot buy non ethanol fuel as it is, so there will be NO choice but to park the boats over the summer and beyond!
In addition, the Biden Adm. ordering the increase in Ethanol content will likely cause very costly damage to not only our boat engines, but any/all engines not rated for more then 10% ethanol, so basically NOTHING is safe now! Note, even E-85 compliant automobile and marine engines cannot handle the additional ethanol, let alone small gas engines, and damage will certainly occur, not only voiding any warranty, but in many cases, will leave those most financially insecure with out their automobiles at a time of greater need! THANKS BRANDON!

As most here know, I have my own airplanes, and while we haven't been forced out of our LL-100 Av-Gas yet, that day will come soon, and with Brandon running the big show, it's likely to come sooner then any one will be ready. My own Aircraft are both MOGAS ( Automotive fuel) rated, I.E. the fuel systems of both can handle a certain amount of E-85 type fuel with out damage, BUT, we do not know what the administration might be planning ( Against the advice/recommendations of the FAA and NTSB) or when they will drop this all in our laps, effectively destroying a signiffigent quantity of civil aviation. Expect to see lots of small aircraft for sale soon, nobody knows what the Feds are going to change or when, and there has been no official word on what type of fuel we will be able to get or when, so it's going to be very costly to a bunch of folks to have to wait until we know what and when, and then the mad scramble to do the conversions needed, or simply stop flying and sell it all off at a loss! There has been lots of scuttlebutt around the LL-100 situation, and it's looking more then likely that Brandon will mandate the change over with out due consideration of cause and effect upon the aviation community, they simply don't care!

To the greens it is not madness, they want to stop you from boating and flying. If they raise gas to $10 and diesel to $15, make fossil based fuel unusable in older engines, etc, we will be forced to stop "wasting fuel" on all those worthless things like going on vacations, pleasure flying or boating, visiting relatives or friends, driving 50 miles a day to work, etc, and it will save our world by reducing CO2.

You will be forced to either use mass transport or live within walking distance of work, shopping, schools etc and the country will be reclaimed by nature and corporate farms. Fuel, food price inflation, covid crowd control and distancing, multiple shots to "protect you" from XYZ disease, all part of their game plan. We are all supposed to live in the new urban "plantation", follow their rules like good little sheep, as only they know what is best for us. While it may look like a total screw up by Biden, it may actually be part of the plan to change us to a 1 party socialist state. The changing composition of the population, the mass media and educational brainwashing by the left, the massive invasion by immigrants, both illegal aliens and legal, who have no desire to assimilate into our culture, as well as the growth of the new "tribes", may well be a desired goal by the left. Rant off.

No there isn't. Welcome to build back better.
Nothing is getting built in America.
    No jobs are back.
    Nothing is getting better.

The implication of build back better is that you have to destroy what exists in order to build it back. If only people saw the meanings in their words.

    Are you sure?
There is a difference between mandating and allowing the 15 percent ethanol.
I believe that he is allowing the summer time sale of E15 fuel to be sold between june and september.
this will come at the expense to fuel economy and increased smog as this is a more volatile fuel.
he's hoping that this will reduce the cost of fuel for the consumer. he's hoping it'll drop it by 10 cents a gallon.
It'll probably be more like 5 cents.

and you know what? Trump did the exact same thing and we weren't complaining about that. But he did it to 'help' the farmers to due to the tariffs imposed on china in 2019 (iirc).

So it was good when trump did it for 2 years and bad when biden does the exact same thing? It seems we are getting our panties in a bunch because they want us to.

We're getting our panties in a bunch because Biden has effectively choked off oil production and driven the cost of motor fuel to record levels. That cost is reflected in the price of everything we purchase, not just when we fill our boats, airplanes and pickup trucks, and is therefore a significant contributor to inflation as well.

Trump may have authorized the use of E15 due to tariffs imposed on China (missed the connection there somewhere) but it wasn't to provide America with a head fake to cover up for grossly and more than likely, intentionally failed energy policy.

Thinking that E15 will stretch gasoline supplies is a false notion, since it results in poorer fuel economy (due to the fact that ethanol contains less energy per volume than gasoline) and will result in the customer having to return more frequently to the fuel island.

But hey, if people simply look at the pump price and think "It's cheaper" they'll swallow the bait and and believe that Biden has done something to reduce the cost of fuel.

Biden is allowing the use of E15 as a lie. That's not the "exact same thing" or for the same reason that Trump did it.

You are correct, it does indeed reduce fuel economy.
They both used the suspension of winter fuel blends to pander to the voters.
Trump .. the farmers. Biden ... those that don't understand that they will be using more fuel.
    It's all bread and circuses.
Whomever is in power will pander to the people so they will re-elect them.

The latest and greatest from Num* Nu**. Administration said delays in petro leases due to a "math error". No error, the model they selected to evaluate the threat to the environment was unrealistic. Since it is a model and not the real world, it is based on assumptions and depending on the model selected and how the data is massaged, you can get any result you wish. Any one who has ever completed a Masters degree knows that to be a God given fact. Now that the real world and the perfect storm of price increases and shortages is interfering with their goals, they need a scape goat. They didn't make a mistake, it was a math error. Right and I have a bridge in New York for sale too.

You have to admit under Trump fuel costs never reached the levels they are now so even if he did authorize 15% ethanol (I never saw it being sold) it had little effect on the already low price. Under Bidumb even if it dropped the price 10 cents a gallon when you are paying 5-6 dollars a gallon it ain't going to make much difference. Where will the additional corn come from to make more ethanol when 20 million acres less will be planted due to fertilizer shortages.

FYI, "flex fuel" engines, that are rated to use E-85 blend, are designed to burn fuel that is 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline. So I doubt that running 15% ethanol, 85% gasoline, is going to bother them much!
Also FYI, the only real limiting factor, for a modern (computer controlled) engine to burn higher amounts of ethanol (like E-85), is that you need to protect any aluminum parts that will be in contact with the fuel. Because ethanol does nasty things to aluminum, over the long run. And how do they do that? By nickel plating those parts. Having worked on liquid fuel systems (including fuel dispensing systems) when Congress mandated the use of E-85 fuel for government owned or leased vehicles that were rated to use it, I remember we had to make sure that the dispensing systems had nickel plated aluminum parts (swivels, nozzles, etc).

There was a push here in Michigan to use more E85, to the point where State of MI vehicles were required to use it. There’s a couple stations around my place that sell the stuff. My understanding is that it has 80% of the stored energy as our regular 87 octane, 10% ethanol blend. Therefore, it gets 20% worse mileage. Not surprisingly, it usually costs exactly 80% of the price of regular.
