My little monkey had a pool party for one of her buddy's birthday today. So the plan was to go have a family breakfast before we dropped her off.

    Here's Ray.

Some of there friends (who I would happily eat).

Oh heck no! Keep me away from the stingrays!!! The hammerheads are fine, though. :)

I guess you don't need to rewrap the handle of your katana yet then.

I just wrapped the handle on my Cold Steel Gladius with rattlesnake skin. Looks and feels awesome.

Someplace here on SM, I told the story of catching a hammerhead in St. Thomas harbor back in 69. Won't repeat it here, but only say that the look in the cook's eyes was priceless when he found out who raided his freeze box and what we did with that pork roast. Nasty set of teeth.

When I was in Pohnpei, some locals took me out to Nan Madol (I heard it called the Stone Henge of the Pacific), we went through this bay as we were trying to make our way out into open water. When I put my hand in the water, I noticed it was very warm. Warmer than I would use to bathe even. When I mentioned that to my hosts, they casually told me the bay was home to the neighborhood 22 foot hammerhead. I took my hand right out of the water, but it probably wouldn't matter as the shark was more than twice as big as the skiff we were in. That was quite an adventure racing the tide on that tiny thing. Rough bouncy ride, went through a squall as we headed for the horizon, motor went out several times, we bailed quite a bit and were totally drenched. But we made it to the ruins and I started to be a little afraid. The two locals fed me traditionally prepared breadfruit and took me ashore to explain that this is where the headhunting and cannibal rituals took place. Was a little worried because it was an unscheduled trip there and no one knew where I was except for my hosts. Long story short, I lived and got to see some pretty amazing ruins. The stones were very large and not from the area. Local lore says they were moved by sorcery. Oh, never did see the 22 footer. Wanted to, but just as well.

I would love to see that handle!

Maybe Bite would be more appropriate for a snake.

I watched "Willow" a loooong time ago. My swords are nameless too. Just chain yanking because I am impressed with the snake skin wrap. I think I would feel the essence of the snake every time I used it, if it were mine and I harvested the snake myself.
