I have posted, more than a few times, that a serving - as in "X servings per pouch" often seen for so called Emergency Food - is not a meal. An entree, sure. Having said that,l I bring to your attention the Loma Linda brand Chipotle Bowl, with Black Beans. A meal in a pouch. ({{MetaTags.title || 'Nutritionix'}}) Water, Non-GMO Textured Soy Protein, Brown Rice, Diced Tomatoes, Chipotle Paste (Water, Tomato Paste, Chipotle Pepper Puree (Water, Chipotle Peppers), Salt, Onion, Paprika, Spices, Turmeric, Garlic, Sesame Seed Oil, Vinegar), Black Beans, Diced Red Bell Peppers, Sweet Corn, onion, Salt, Lemon Juice, Coriander, Cumin, Garlic Powder, Black Pepper, Chili, Spices, Yeast Extract. (note yeast severs to replace MSG, so the sodium level is noteworthy.) Shelf life is reasonable, but this is not LTS Chow, but can serve to make for a deep pantry. Uses brown rice and black beans - a nice combo. Currently for sale at COSTCO on a box of six pouches. Heated and eaten with corn chips, this makes a great quick meal. Served on a flour tortilla - also a good meal. Tasty - and spicy, a nice touch, these are made/sold by Loma Linda - a long time player in the TVP business. Can be heated in a microwave, in a hot water bath or stirred in a skillet. Easy peezy. Strongly recommended.
I got my degree at Loma Linda and the food on campus is to die for, but the food in the caf, not so much.
