Trump made a decision on 2-12-26 to reclassify the nature of CO2 as defined in the federal regulations to a harmless gas. While it is perhaps one of the most important things he has done in his second term, it is either being attacked by the left or ignored by the public in favor of some perhaps kidnapping. Given the differences in the viewpoints of the left and right, and the total biases in both the main stream Mass Media and the internet sources, I find it impossible to get a truly neutral view. Here is Fox News report of the statement at the time. Since then there has been minimal coverage of any positive impacts of the change and a major attack on it by the left. If CO2 is not harmful, than it is arguable that a natural gas generating plant while not renewable, is in fact nearly green. Major combustion products are water vapor and CO2. In fact considering the massive impacts of creating the inputs for solar cells and the copper etc, to connect them to the grid, converting existing coal plants to natural gas, may be the green solution.

Most of the basis in the federal and state laws on the regulations to prevent climate change have been on the assumptions that CO2 emissions are a major cause of climate warming and that is going to effect our future in a negative way, This view ignores the fact that historical data indicates major climate changes have occurred in the past, ice ages, etc, when humans were not interacting with the CO2 . These rules are based on a ruling by Obama that CO2 was harmful. While Trump can rule it not harmful and get the effects reversed, the next president would have the option to reverse such a decision.

In an attempt to get some background on this change, it is interesting to see what Trump has done in the climate change arena up to this point. The best summary I have found in his actions is a listing of the great harm he has done by one of his most rational critics. It lists each action and how it is destroying our interventions in the past and going to ruin our future'

Perhaps the most rational and complete inspection of the changes on the right side was a post on the American Thinker

While I have no idea what the long term affect is going to be, it will employ many lawyers, judges, furnish many jobs to the non profit greens, and create a whole new career path in the business world as it is fought out over the next 3 years, It will be interesting to see how it plays out in congress as well. The political comments on his actions in vetoing a bill that limits his authority would be interesting, This again proves that the actions of selecting our political representatives is very important and that in the end it requires a fair system. Tampering with the vote, redistricting, and the counting of illegal aliens, can destroy any real representation of the public and the actions taken by those selected can destroy our faith in the system,
