OK, which one are we talking about here - US vs Russia US vs China US vs Cuba or is there a significant one (or more) I missed?
The cold wars with Cuba and Iran. There are probably others also...but very small fish compared to Russia and China
As someone who has dealt with a lot of Chinese people. They are the most cold blooded people I have ever met. No mind you, I lived in Los Angeles and worked in the worst neighborhoods there are. Inglewood, Watts, Compton. There are some streets you just don't go down. There are some streets the police don't go down. I would rather have them than the Chinese any day of the week. I have seen Chinese do things that are sub-human. I have seen the hatred for Americans face to face and in their eyes. There is no doubt they would just as soon kill you as breath just for being American. Current estimates are China owns about 30% of America. That is debt and land and infrastructure. I guess if you support dying by Communist hands its not such a bad thing... How much of the United States does China really own? China “Pwns” Us: How the Chinese Are Buying Up America How Much U.S. Debt Does China Own?
The Chinese have not been around for this long by playing nice, unfortunately we had an idiot in the Whitehouse who does not understand this. The Chicoms are patient and will wait for that moment when it is to their clear advantage to make a move on us. Make no mistake it will happen
of interest... thinkin there are MANY such within our nation that are maybe committing treason/aiding and abetting a nation bent on our destruction... With the middle class waning so greatly, I'd argue there's no difference between the Corporate model or the Communist one except the speed of delivery. Both systems are inherently designed to transfer power to the hands of the controlling mob, no matter its designation. Both have one class of people who serve their masters. Both will ultimately bring people to the same destination, with varying levels of disdain for each. Some may argue that Democracy and Capitalism works, but they've fooled people long enough to make them demand more security when faced with an enemy contrived out of thin air, despite trading their inherent liberty and freedom with nothing to show for it except more despotism. We don't have government and a free market economy, we have a corporate cartel, a syndicate of criminals who got into the government business before any of us were even born. The real threat isn't the Bill Gates and George Soros of the world, it's plain old fashioned ignorance and indifference, it's selfishness and complacency. Just as Communism was designed to infiltrate existing societies and take them over from within, the corporate model has the very same motive. These competing juggernauts have gone toe-to-toe long enough for the world to see we're not winning this one no matter which side you're on. We are all destined to be used like chattel and tossed aside, because there's a much bigger game being played here.
I think you are right about the Capitalism. WTF do we do about it being so easily toppled? Greed CAN be a good thing but double edged sword. I think there is a strong argument for BitCoin as a new form of currency. Its the only truly free money since gold and silver. Since 2 countries have now adopted it as their official money the IMF must protect it to the dismay of many. I guess the steps are to identify HOW we were toppled and how to prevent it again in the future, only permanently. I would argue that Capitalism is THE best way to innovate and advance the species of Man but not the sad excuse for Capitalism they have us under today. Copyright seems to be one of the tools used to destroy Capitalism. If you actually think about it, copyright only helps 1 person. Removing copyright helps EVERYONE. There are a lot of examples. Incorporation also seems to be one of the worst things to happen to our country. Removing the penalties from people who kill other people has made them unconcerned with polluting and destroying the planet. If a car explodes and kills people due to faulty construction, the owners/board of directors hold no responsibility. They even give themselves raises after massive oil spills, polluting the skies, and dumping nuclear waste on the public. I guess just look at the Communist Manifesto and the Marxist guides and do the opposite. That sounds good but there needs to be ways of keeping them from coming back. It would seem that any changes to American Law since Blacks Law V1, or after the first 10 Amendments, is designed to take freedom away. We must all stand up and, not only demand, but actually take our freedom back. I think education is a hell of a place to start.
@enloopious A solid primer on the history of corporations, how they came to exist, what powers they now hold, and especially the Constitutional prowess they can flex may be a great place to start. In America, a corporation once only existed by charter, and once it had completed its task of building roads or whatever role it was assigned, it was dismantled. The founders of this nation knew very well the dangers of corporate greed, but I doubt very much they could have envisioned the merging of corporations and government into the neo-fascist oligarchy it has become. To me, "Capitalism" is a word people use to describe anything that isn't Communism, as it really holds little value and does nothing to illuminate the true scope of what we are facing. Free market capitalism is pretty much the relationship between people and private businesses, as it cannot really exist in a corporate arena.
There’s zero reason to innovate if there’s no copyright protection. Should it be revamped? Maybe. Eliminated?
It didn't always exist and even with it, there are still lots of copies and people stealing others tech. Look at the Dodge Stealth and the Mitsubishi 3000. People know that they are 2 different companies and 2 different cars. They look the same but we all know the difference. Did the one take sales away from the other? Competition is good and if you can improve on the prior version you have made the world a better place. Removing copyright gives companies a massive incentive to innovate to stay ahead of the competition. Like I said, greed can be good. Don't let it run wild on us. Another example: chocolate. Kinder chocolate from Germany and Cadbury from England were banned in America because Hershey made an inferior replication. The product is barely able to be called chocolate and all of the people in America eat Hershey's crap chocolate because they were able to copyright the name before they came here. They lobbied politicians and got a monopoly on the most popular candies in the world. They were fake, but they were the only option in America because of copyright law. I literally had to smuggle chocolate into the country to get some for my kids. If you knew that China had no copyright law, would that surprise you? They innovate faster and better than anyone. People know the difference between the real deal and a knock off. If you can't afford the name brand then you suffer with the knock off.
Stealth/Mitsubishi was a joint venture. Daimler-Chrysler had a controlling interest in Mitsubishi at that time. Chocolate availability in the US is due to trade policies. Hershey and others have successfully convinced lawmakers to restrict imports of European products to protect their markets here. They are hardly the only industry to do this. I totally agree the quality of Euro chocolate is better. Are you saying you seek out Chinese products since they innovate better than anyone? I think they copy and can outproduce pricewise better than anyone. It’s obvious they have no copyright protection.
