crook knife

Anyone ever ponder making a crook/spoon/crooked knife? They are the ones used to make bowls and spoons and such.
Just the heattreating would be an adventure.
Any one have any ideas?

 

Should be pretty easy Heat treating it wouldn't be any different than any other knife

 

sharpen the edge of a piece of tubing or pipe( just making a circular chisel )right ?how about a copper elbow with a wooden handle on one end; sharpen the other for carving/scraping , maybe heat it and quench it fast to harden it up..Just mcgyvering..Or just use hot coals to burn a bowl or spoon.

Make the knife as you would any other then heat it and bend it into the arch you want then heat treat
