Harris' 2020 exit leaves potentially all-white debate, causing consternation among Dems A couple of things come to mind. -If the "diverse" candidate cannot maintain a position to be elected, there could be a question about suitability as a candidate. After all, no support must mean something. -If what little support there is fails to go to the polls, it has to mean they don't care to be represented according to their wishes. License to riot? NOT protest, not demonstrate, not interfere; these days, those are simply euphemisms for riot. Votes matter - "At the bottom of all the tributes paid to democracy is the little man, walking into the little booth, with a little pencil, making a little cross on a little bit of paper --- no amount of rhetoric or voluminous discussion can possibly diminish the overwhelming importance of that point." Winston Churchill, House of Commons, October 31, 1944 If those that figure themselves disenfranchised by a candidate's failure to thrive in the arena, I have to wonder why they didn't support the candidate when the chance came up. I MUST think a wish for magic, or divine intervention, or some other interjection will take over and put their choice, (if they even have one) in place to carry them.
