If you keep monofilament for fishing it works better. In some cases, I have only used the tape to hold the injury closed or super glue if the area of skin is too thin. I have done these on myself and my family and they use the same techniques.
Having kits around is not a bad plan, that's how they function in hospitals. That said, improvisation has likely done as well, tho' the results might well be uglier when healed up. Fishing line is featured in my fak, serves more purposes than sewing. All the same, I need to look into the kits a bit more.
I think this kit is not suit during the emergency time, So lots of medical store and hospitals are not likes to use this type of kit.
