I just wanted to ensure that all monks saw this...Here is a portion of the article and link below

"The federal government has finally recognized the obvious – that sharing instructions on how to make guns with 3D printers counts as constitutionally protected speech. Despite little fanfare, this is an important victory for First Amendment rights. It also represents a real blow to the increasingly futile cause of gun control.

The U.S. Justice Department announced a legal settlement and its surrender to the First Amendment arguments July 10 made in a case brought by Cody Wilson, founder of Defense Distributed. Wilson, 25, created a ruckus in May 2013 when he announced his successful design of a plastic gun. In just two days, 100,000 copies of the handgun blueprint were downloaded from Wilson’s website.

The most downloads came from Spain, followed by the U.S., Brazil and Germany. The heavy downloading in Spain, Brazil and Germany likely reflected attempts to evade extremely restrictive handgun regulations in those countries"

Next up, plastic controls. We do NOT want plastic receivers interfering with marine life, like soda straws do.

Actually NO, You got it wrong... This doesn't end Gun Control... It just brings it back to 1940 Era Gun Control plus the Hughes Amendment, or what is effectively 1970 era Gun Control... If you read the Heller & McDonald Decisions, the LONG STANDING Prohabitions (Read that to mean 1943 NFA ) iARE legal AND Constitutional.... and any changes to that Statute would have to be made by Amending the Statute, by Congress... i.e. Suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and dropping the Hughes Amendment... Yes, Many think that that should be done, but UNTIL it is actually Done, we are stuck with the Statute the way it is... It does put a GIANT Dent in any LEGAL Skullduggery of the Anti-Gun Crowd spewing their "Military Style, Grade, Weapons of WAR, Assault Weapon, Nomenclature BS when trying to write something in a Bill, to make it pass Constitutional Muster... I have always said Legislative Proposed Bills, many times are Totally UnConstitutional, and usually would NOT pass the Federal District Court challenge, as Elected Morons can write all kinds of BS in a Bill, usually to spur their Base, that they are "Doing Something" but those kinds of things rarely ever get out of Committee ... The reason this went the way it did, is that the Trump Justice Department recognized the futility of trying to justify such Language in a Federal Court, and would much rather leave the Issue unresolved, rather than have a SCOTUS or Appellate Precedent , on the Books saying it is TOTALLY UnConstitutional... and the issue was SO BAD, that the Challengers even got a BIG Chunk of their Attornys Fees from the FEDs to cover the Costs of the Challenge.... That says EVERYTHING about the Case...

The gun owners protection act seems to be invalid as Remington was sued over Sandy hook so the gun owners protection act and the Hughes amendment should be null and void.
