...for a couple of months. Really looking forward to getting back to the Smokies. Rain on the tin roof. Hummingbirds and tufted titmouse building nests. Beaucoup berries. Canoeing whitewater. Hiking. Mountainbiking. Fishing mountain streams for trout. Best springwater ever. Shooting off the porch. Feel sorry for us. It'll suck.
"Going back"? Why would anyone leave? I am perfectly fine, sitting on my farm. Solar power to my home, it even recharges my hybrid car. Off-grid life is fantastic.
What you just described is heaven on earth, what every good man or woman should want or dream of! Very soon, I get to finally return to our beloved ranch, and we cannot wait to get things back up and running! I wanna see if our old Grizzly is still alive and hope he remembers us. I wanna hike the high alpine meadows gathering wild berries and watching the herds of elk and deer wonder along. I wanna hear the wolf songs again, and the Owls hooting from the tree tops! I want my mountain, I want that cold clear air that comes up from the front range and clears out your head. Heaven I tell ya!
Yes sir. No grizzlies but black bear. No wolves but coyotes. Our red heeler puppy went nuts the first time he heard an owl last summer. Hackles up and he looked like a mini werewolf. LOL. It's so hard for most people I talk to to relate to the simple life. I pretty much quit trying. We need maybe one more road trip west. Like 4-5 months camping around. Maybe next year...
