My birthday was the beginning of this month, and my loving fiance bought me a new axe! I have not had an axe since I was a kid, and don't have any idea what happened to the last one. Lost in transition... Anyway, I got me a Husqvarna 19" carpenters axe!

I also bought myself a new Agawa Canyon Boreal 21! This saw is already a vast improvement from my old wood eater!

I am planning a trip into a canyon this weekend to try out the new gear, but here is a few pics of what I have right now. The other blades I have not mentioned:

    Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri
    Hoffman Harpoon
Cold Steel Throwing Knives x 2

The Kukri has been my old standby for several years, as evinced by the blade wear. This thing has a bite like no other! It has been my go-to for chopping wood for ten years now. But I am in need of something more efficient and willing to try other methods. If the Kukri is all ya got, it will definitely do, but I am hoping an axe will be faster, after so many years of this awesome blade.

Man am I excited to see how this axe and saw perform! The saw I was using before was just a cheap Ozark Trail brand!

Nice weaving of cord on the handle. I do like that saw.

I have a genuine Indian-made Kukri too. An amazing blade! Massively thick, but hair-shaving sharp. If I went insane and volunteered for the show "Naked&Afraid", this is the tool I would take.
I was doing motorcycle road/camping trips a few years back, and I took a little Marbles Safety Hatchet, the one with the hinged bar that covers the edge when not in use. Great little tool for making kindling, light enough for backpacking.

Only two. I bought a 3 pack, but I had no easy way to store all of them on the Kukri sheath. They are flat, so two of them stuff nicely under the paracord wrap on either side of the Kukri sheath.

For years this was my go-to camp tool. It stays sharp, has a wonderful balance and a nice, thick tang.

It's got enough weight in the right place to take big bites of what yer choppin', too!

I love my very old carbon V kukri. Still have it after all this years.

My axe and saw choice now is a Wetterlings (also old) and a Silky (not as old).

Your combination is a good one @Guerrilla Tactical.

Thank you gun, knife, axe, etc porn always appreciated. I have a good sized bow saw on its holder on my garden cart. They are an amazing tool for cutting dead limbs, etc and never run out of gas.

I think I fell in love with this saw. I need to get proficient with an axe again though, after using the Kukri for so many years. I found myself longing for it with every throw and feeling awkward with an axe in my hand. Other than that, this Husqvarna is pretty sweet!

Built myself a little seat to keep my butt off the wet ground. I think the big logs were pushing 6 inches. The Agawa Canyon Boreal 21 ate through them in minutes! My old saw couldnt do that.

Hiked a drainage this weekend looking for something beautiful, and scouting for a rugged environment to do some hammock camping. I definitely found it all!

The mountain sides on either side of this particular drainage were so steep it created an interesting micro ecosystem with nothing but pines on the eastern facing slope and deciduous undergrowth on the western slope.

I also found a portion of the eastern slope was absolutely covered in Huckleberries! This is probably the greatest find I've made here since living in the Galatin Valley, and almost important enough to spend some time up there establishing a campsite I can return to. Would love to spend a few days up there this summer gathering berries, mmm!

Probably going to need to think more about camp security if I do that, though. I bet there's gonna be a lot of hungry bears that know about this slope!
