Sorta interesting that VPC is collecting recalls initiated by the industry. Just for S&G, I checked one of the links pertaining to one firearm I know a bit about. Heh. The link is to a completely different firearm. Well, they got the mfr correct even if they can't tell the difference between a handgun and shoulder fired gun.

The term that leapt into mind was "dipshit."

I clicked on the link for a gun I actually own and carry and it took me to...a $50 rebate offer that expired six months ago??? Did they have some unpaid intern set up these links?

Dipshit is being too complimentary. They are seriously not paying attention, but we already knew that.

The violence policy center puts up a page about gun recalls but advocates for :
The Violence Policy Center (VPC) works to stop gun death and injury through research, education, advocacy, and collaboration.
and they received donations of 830k and the two directors paid themselves 300k total out of that.

Color me skeptical that this isn't just to use gun owners as an ad revenue stream.

Click bait for a staunch anti-gun advocacy group.

Iwas thinking that these Yahoos were setting up a Deal where you send off your weapon to some outfit, and it dissapears into the ether.... and their excuse is, “ oh we got it. wrong... To bad for you...”

could be but if you see a recall you can always go to the source and not click through their website.

For any recall I'll contact the manufacturer first! They would know.

Normally, you tell them the Serial Number, and the will give you a RMA Authorization, which you put on the package exterior, when you send it in for Recall Repair...

Don't know but I wouldn't trust them.... Always go to the OEM for Recall Info... Horse's Mouth sort of thing.....
