worth a read maybe? Opinions? Agree? Disagree?

A poll conducted by Zogby Analytics during the last week of February showed how the combination of hypocrisy and real-world facts are negating Hollywood’s anti-gun message. When 869 likely voters were asked by Zogby, “When Hollywood actors and actresses speak out about gun control, does that make you want to support or oppose our constitutional right to bear arms (the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution?”, the response across every class, age group, and political party affiliation indicated that Hollywood’s anti-gun message is being increasingly rejected. Taken altogether, 56 percent of those polled said Hollywood’s anti-gun rants make them want either to “somewhat” support or “strongly support” the Second Amendment. Just 28 percent are reflecting the bias pitched by Hollywood, with 16 percent “strongly opposed” to the right guaranteed by the Second Amendment in the Constitution’s Bill of Rights, and 12 percent “somewhat opposed.”

But support for the Second Amendment was strongest among Millennials:

Among all age groups surveyed, supporting the Second Amendment was strongest among Millennials age 18-29 (65% support). A majority of all other age groups were also more likely to support the Second Amendment rather than oppose it when Hollywood talks about gun control.

When it came to political party, equal percentages of Democrats and Independents (47 percent) support the Second Amendment, while Republicans were nearly off the charts at 86 percent support.

As Zogby noted, this is not the response anti-gun types in Hollywood and the mainstream media were hoping for. And this is going to be especially dicey for Democrats in November:

As we approach the November midterms, gun control will be a hot button issue but, according to [our] data, Hollywood interjecting itself into the debate makes even the Democratic base want to bear arms.

Rejection of the anti-gun message might have something to do with Hollywood’s hypocrisy:

There could also be an element of hypocrisy driving the numbers, since many actors and actresses have body guards who carry guns. [In addition] Hollywood churns out movies depicting guns and violence.

The numbers among young voters, African Americans, Hispanics and even Democrats prove the gun debate could be a tricky strategy for Democrat [candidates] looking to take back power in both houses of Congress in the 2018 midterm elections.

In addition to that hypocrisy are irrefutable facts that negate Hollywood’s primary argument that the presence of guns in the hands of private citizens increases the risk of gun violence. Exactly the opposite is true as Heritage Foundation researchers John Malcolm and Amy Swearer discovered:

    • “Violent crime is down and has been on the decline for decades.”
    • “Higher rates of gun ownership are not associated with higher rates of violent crime.”
    • “There is no clear relationship between strict gun control legislation and homicide or violent crime rates.”
    • “Legally owned firearms are used for lawful purposes much more often than they are used to commit crimes or suicide.”
    • “Concealed carry permit holders are not the problem, but they may be part of the solution.”

The anti-gun propaganda pouring out of Hollywood any time there is a mass shooting almost seems coordinated, according to the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action NRA-ILA):

The anti-gun themes emanating from the West Coast entertainment establishment [are] so pervasive that they seemed almost scripted and coordinated by some unseen hand.

Perhaps some of this was due to the work of the Everytown Creative Council [which calls itself “a grassroots movement” of “actors, writers, musicians and artists”] that pledges to use their “communication skills and the power of culture to galvanize many more Americans” in support of gun control.

But so far those efforts appear to be backfiring: the more they push their anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment meme, the more Americans are waking up to the fact that they are being played for fools. As the NRA’s ILA expressed it: “According to the Zogby poll … all these efforts have actually done a great service to the Second Amendment.... Hooray for Hollywood lecturing the rest of the country on the evils of firearms!”

Now, THERE is a conspiracy theory just waiting to hatch.

What we have with these theatrical folks is people unable to think for themselves and are so used to being told what to say for their trade that they parrot the lines given to them as scripted. (Draw your own conclusions about who writes the script.) Fame and fortune puts them behind a lectern where they can spout off. My point is that they are not qualified to spout other than the script. Among the non actors, there seems a movement rejecting the culture these californiac(tors) and others were raised in, it's almost like the drugs have worn off and sight has returned.

Something rather troubling is recent reports of many PRC folks leaving Kali and moving to other states...

I can understand wanting to get away from such... BUT!!!

problem is many of them bring that crap with em and almost immediately start doing their best to change their new state into the same thing as the one they ran away from...

hows that go... stupidity is doing the same thing that has always resulted in the same thing over and over expecting a different result this one time or some such...

Would some of you elaborate how Californians contribute to ruining other states they run to ?
Being a native Californian ,not having lived an any other state ,though I hear the accusations no one exacts the specifics .
I know that there have been things like building expensive homes and raising property values driving taxes up on the neighbors around them. This arrogance offends me as well .

Sure... I am one as well... and I left because of what the people were voting for and doing to their state.

They come in and settle and next thing ya know their trying to implement the same programs that put cali where it is now...

and they want this or that added in for people already living here and did not ask for and did not want...

but they need it so F U locals...

and up go tax's considerably to add whatever... and then they get all over the schools wanting to make changes...

changes the duplicate the cali school system... which seems to be one of the worst...

and near as I could tell from attending it and later college that system stopped teaching around 1968-70

now it seems to just indoctrinate students and avoids telling them about their rights under the Constitution...

and Bill of Rights... and heaven help you if you bring up the Declaration of Independence...

I could go on for hours... the NEW progressive, socialist, communist agenda is the norm now...

watched and it made me sick...

OH and you can NOT have rights under such... what you get is Gestapo or KGB...

Gestapo? YEP the NAZI's were SOCIALIST...

cause you MUST comply... it's for the children and of course the the common good....

Mummers, doing what Mummers do, entertain! That's it, no qualifications to speak, or to have an opinion outside the rest of us, and yet they pontificate like they know all, simply because they portrayed some one that may have!
Case in point, Tom Banks flat out refused to get sucked into a convo where he is asked where HE stands! guns, abortion, murder of kids in schools, me too, est....
Sam Jackson, much the Same! Now Kurt Russel, there is some one unexpected, Gary Seinese, James Woods. People who actually have some life experience and are not afraid of Hollywood to tell it like it really is!
Stumps like Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, ect .have No idea how the world works, but they think they have more power then they have and take it upon them selves to stand up and rant, Amy Schummer, Ashly Judd, Sam Bee, Joy Behar, Whoopy Goldberg, ect........all keep speaking out stark raving mad, how could one NOT think them insane? The fact that people take any thing serious when it come out of their mouths is just plane stupid, and shame on them for falling for those crocodile tears!!!

I'm just going to speak on my behalf and my encounters with the foreign invaders :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. That's just a joke there. Being southern born and bred , I'm going to speak just from my perspective. And this is what I've seen and experienced from my Yankee counterparts , as well as few Californians , and I mean no disrespect to anyone. But,,, if you move to another AO , live in that area for a while before trying to exact change , adapt to that area and it's way of life. Just my opinion , but if things were so good where you were at , what the hell you doing here ?? We don't give a damn how you did it there. Can you imagine my NC country ass going to New York City and tellin' them how to do things. Same thing with all these Mexicans , why do I have to speak Spanish , ur in 'Murica !!! I've been up north , and I've been to Cali . And I've had them both try to tell me to do things they way they did it at home. Who cares. This is the way I do it. This is the way my Paw did it. And this is the way his Paw did it. And if things work out , my kids will do it this way to. That's over a hundred years of doing things the way we do it. Why is it , all of a sudden you're going to make it better. Bottom line here is , move where you want , but respect their ways and traditions. You don't have to do it our way , but leave us alone to do it the way our ancestors taught us. I take it kind of personal you implying me , my Paw , and his Paw , was wrong. I'm not speaking to anybody in general here , just saying this is how some ( me ) may see it.

Perfect example here of the Cali evasion north! Back in the 80s, OryGun was mainly a timber, fishing and farming state, not a lot else. While most if the population was some what democratic, and slightly liberal, it was in a very traditional sence! Just after the timber industry imploded, a bunch of enviromentalest invaded and started causing trouble with every thing, at the same time, the tech industries started moving north to get away from the high taxes and cheaper land, they "Imported" skilled labor with them instead of training up the locals. These all combined efforts to undo what was, and turned it into what "They" wanted. The State and the general populou was all to happy to sell to them at a nice profit, mistakenly believing things would be better. What that did was drive the real etate market beyond what the residents could afford, so they were forced out of their own locals. Every thing really snowballed, and combined with how the State ran things, how the voters voted, and the ultra gained seats, the State has all but gone to hell. It' not any one person' fault, it' every ones, BUT, the Cali imports began bringing their politics north with them, they voted for them, and drove every one out! When I retired, I purchased a nice old little house on a big chunk of land out in high tech central. It wasn' suposed to be an investment, but when I decided to get the hell out due mainly to the make up of the populous, the rising crime, the rise of tech, and all that, I put every thing up for sale, and the market exploded, there was a bidding war for my property, several offers were 40 and 50k more then the asking price! What was a 130k property, sold for 210k, and I was happy to bail and head south east! Thus, I contributed my fair share to the woes, the winning bid was a real state investor from Cali, and was quick to tear down the home and devide the property up into quarters and built 4 homes, each selling for 200+k!!!! That's the kind of thing that has been happening all over!

And they are talking about splitting the state of CA up? When I was young California had the number 3 GDP in the world. It was USA, some other country, and then California. They were able to crash the entire economy in a couple of decades. do you think it was an accident? They were a major power house that had the resources to stand up to any dictator, foreign or domestic. Divide and conquer right? People don't seem to understand that splitting up the state would drive another nail in the coffin of this country. Yeah maybe the country is doomed already and we should throw in the towel but that is what they want. That is how they win. Where is the fight that we used to be famous for. What happened to home of the free and land of the brave. Those people have to be out there some where. Didn't they raise any kids and if so, did they not teach them...

Most of my life you could go to any town and buy a gun. There were some very nice gun stores. Huge. They are ALL gone now. Disarm the population and you can make them do anything. Hollywood has nothing to do with what most people in CA think. They act as if they do but they are all full of BS and anyone who listens to these ass clowns deserves what they get.

Don't forget that Odumbmass tasked the CDC to do a study on guns and violence, fully expecting to condemn guns across the board. The CDC report actually confirmed, more guns less crime, and that guns were used at the very least as often to save a life as to take a life, and most likely was used up to 2 million times a year to prevent death. additionally guns used for suicide racked up a whopping 61% of what was previously listed as gun violence. The report was done in 2013 and mostly ignored and unpublished by mainstream media
