Shot is easy to make. Grandpa used to make it with a old hand crank grain cleaner. The Steel screens for it ranged from about #7/#8 shot up to 000Buck. He would get the thing spinning as fast as it would go and dump a pot of lead in and the balls of shot dropped through the screen into a tub of water below. Quick clean up peeling the lead off the screen that stuck to it and put the covers and chutes back on and it was ready to clean small grains up to butter beans again. Grandpa was old fashioned and self sufficient as he could be until the day he died. Only shotgun he had was a old double barrel 2 trigger muzzle loader shotgun. Always said "If takes more than two shots I ain't earned the right to eat that critter for dinner tonight."

You can get a Littleton shot maker for like $425. They have a website.

If you want buckshot, just buy a mold. They're available in #4 through 000.

I wonder how many 223 projectiles would fit inside a 12 gauge shell?
