I've snuck across the mexican border a few times..... Mexicans (aka Victorians) are for the most part very nice people, even if they play AFL instead of rugby. ;) Australian Football League - Wikipedia

I suspect that AFL may be as incomprehensible to you as gridiron is to me.

(disclaimer: My grandson plays AFL...I find it incomprehensible...but he enjoys playing it and has lots of fun with his mates.)

I can't fault Chell for ripping on Trump. He just doesn't understand what is at stake here in this election that would cause so many of us to actually vote for a buffoon like Trump. I mean seriously, if he wasn't running against Hillary, I probably would have wrote in Snoopy. I thought seriously about wearing a clothespin on my nose when I went to vote...our choices are that bad. I mean for chris' sake, he could have won by a landslide but for a thousand self-inflicted wounds and failures to seize the initiative to take advantage of SO MANY Clinton flaws. You really gotta seriously wonder if he wasn't TRYING to throw the election.

Raise your paw if you would have taken Trump seriously as a candidate in any other election cycle...or voted for him today if the opponent would have been anyone else even slightly more palatable than that witch Clinton.

Bottom line, candidates like Trump, Clinton (especially Clinton), the new, stoned-out-of-his-mind Johnson, Jill the commie Stein et all are the bottom of barrel, rather than the best and the brightest. If these are the only choices we can manage for the chief executive of our country...we are truly in for perpetual BOHICA.

@chimo I don't think he could be too aggressive with Hilary... its the man woman thing... it just doesn't set well for the average person who doesn't follow politics for a man to whop on a woman. Even if she deserves it... he did ok he let everyone else reveal her sociapathic personality

Oh I agree...but you don't have to be aggressive or come off as a bully to attack. I've known some people...all women...who could tear you to shreds verbally but make it sound like pure honey. But I don't think Trump could come off as anything but a bully without a lot of coaching and "game" experience.

We (Australia) have our own border control issues, which are as cynically exploited by both major parties here as they are where you are. I like your exotic accent, even if it doesn't much resemble Strine. ;)

I'm well aware that Latinos don't represent a homogenous bloc and have acknowledged that very evident fact:

Elderly former Cubans may vote differently to their millennial grand children and great grandchildren; long established Hispanics may vote differently to economic refugees from south of the border. What I would like to know is to what extent the 2016 Hispanic early voting surge represents a move to punish, or praise Trump? I am suspecting the former rather than the latter.

I have no doubt that many long established Hispanic residents will not have a high opinion of (recent) illegal immigrants. The illegals represent economic and other threats to their way of life, as much as it may to many long established non-Hispanics.

I'm not convinced that he has what it takes to lead America effectively. He has virtually no experience, other than perhaps as a lobbyist and political schmoozer in the arena of government. Yes he is a wealthy tycoon, but he got to where he is with a silver spoon in his mouth: he didn't pull himself up by his own bootstraps. I don't think that there is much substance to the man.

Trump seems to be very neglected here in comparison to Hillary. Don't get me wrong, I don't think much of Hillary either. She has far too much baggage attached to her, such that I doubt that she will be any more effective with working with Congress or the Senate as Obama. A lame duck president is not what America needs, any more that a wrecking ball president would be, in the form of Trump...

No real need for me to expend much digital ink in criticizing / making fun of Clinton....many of the other members here are already doing a splendid job of that without my needing to add to it. I appreciate that my opinions may seem eccentric in comparison to the rest, but part of my schtick here is to hold up for consideration an alternative view, whether I necessarily agree with it or not. Merely adding to group-think, just to bond with the group, doesn't seem to me to be a good use of my time and effort.

I tend to agree with that thought. Generally, he stomped on his own foreskin by unleashing the first thing that came to his tongue without taking a breath and engaging what might be left of a mind in his skull.

Trump reminds me of an analogy that I have used elsewhere here in one of my posts (on an entirely different subject): Trump brings to mind a Russian manufactured unguided missile...unsophisticated ,unpredictable, and just as hazardous to friendlies as to enemies. ohno

Trump is looking strong in not only Ohio and NC, but also in Virginia...which would be a coup. He's having a harder time in Florida though. Virginia would help offset a loss in Florida...but only if he can take Michigan or PA.

I think this is one of the best things I have read. @chimo nailed it. It took a long time for me to get on the Trump train but the more I watched the media and the politicians throw everything they could at him, the more I moved towards Trump. When you have Republican politicians siding with Hillary rather then the Republican candidate, chosen by the people, it said so much to me. This is huge, no one listened. Not to the silent majority, not to the real main street not to the Bernie movement. They tried to ram down the people throats what they thought best and it backfired.

I wouldn't be too sure about that.
In only 4 years, we will see what comes next. This is the first time a female has run for President so successfuly, and despite the fact that the opposition (Trump) was very likely selected for the role to fail, it brings to mind ideas of what is coming next. No matter what happens during his term as CEO of Slavery, Incorporated --he will be held to the fire by the corporate media. If he fails, it will most likely grant the left a fast-track to the White House in 2020/2021.

On the flip side, Trump is now in a nifty position to cement alliances with political factions and shore up the tide caused by a two term Muslim socialist. In other words, this means that the right wing can establish a solid base and possibly push forward, either with Trump, or another candidate come next election. But, they now have a massive undertaking with repairing the damage caused by the radical socialists. It doesn't look hopeful, but we shall see how well he can surround himself with the proper cabinet. Even if Trump is a failure, the Executive staff he "chooses" will determine the fate of the next election.

My Spidey senses are telling me the globalists win no matter what.

This election was about hope. With a Trump win, my spidey senses still have some sliver of hope that we can prevail from within the system that our forefathers created. If Clinton had won, there would be no hope.

and yes, I am as conflicted as you are whether that sliver of hope is a good thing or a bad thing.

Oh, I have zero hope about this
But, I am elated we've possibly bought ourselves some more time. This winter is predicted to be especially harsh. I would prefer to have civil war and Russians invading during a mild winter.
