greetings fellow simians. no not for that,,, FOOD! i live in a bus/connex in alaska and id like to see functional inside grow set ups for year round food. i used my grow tent to control humidity for my 3d printer so i am looking at 3dp hydroponics, possibly aero ponics[ complicated] or stuff i dont know about that produces year round, onions, lettuce, carrots ect. any one growing food inside all year? please move this if im in the wrong spot.
Good morning. For hydroponics I would suggest looking up some pvc pipe builds there are a ton of examples on youtube/the internet. Keep in mind the plants will grow taller so one where you can raise/lower the growing lights as needed would be best. You may need growing lights on every level if you are doing shelves. If you want to start small/cheap you can cut the top off soda bottles, flip the lids over, and plant the crops in there. Certain plants will grow better in hydroponics than other plants. Lettuce does amazing for example. If you are trying to grow enough food to survive off of it year round I would suggest having a greenhouse with the plants on raised beds and use hydroponics to start the plants. Also have a worm bin regardless of whatever you do- the worm droppings will help supplement the fertilizer which can get expensive. If you already built a system please post pics!
i did gather the stuff to do a 4" pipe areponics,, then sold the house. same here looking for pics of working setups. kinda a green wall thing. thats the tec term. il post when its up.
