I've never been one to chase the danger in my backyard, but it sure was fascinating to see all of the tephra on my road and in my yard. It looked like the day after a heavy snowfall except there were ashes on the ground. In Hawai'i it's called "Pele's Hair." Can you see the spider weblike strands? They're hard to capture with a camera, but they were everywhere and cut like glass. Ouch!
