Today Sweetie and I headed to Costco to pick up a couple of small items. As usual, I headed for the meat market to see how much various cuts had gone up in the week or so since our last visit. I darn near jumped up and down when I looked at most of the prices. They have gone down!!! For instance, their 88% ground beef was $3.39/lb, prime beef cuts were down about $1-2/lb, choice cuts were mostly under $10/lb. I talked briefly with one of the meat guys and he said yes, prices are going down and Costco is passing it along to the customer. Hoorah! Kajun
here in the Mitten it's still up. Supply is down and we have rationing. My off the radar sources (small producers/ranchers/packers) are out of stock until august. I'm betting that there are a lot of people with full freezers and others with none.
