I finally drew my first Antelope tag after 11 yrs of putting in for the draw. Quigs went with me since he was familiar with the hunting area. I took him at 250 yds with him standing downhill from us at a quartered away angle. I took a rest off of my bipod and squeezed the trigger on my Remington 700 VSF bull barrel 308 and punched a hole through his lung and heart. He ran around the knob he was standing on and then dropped about 20 feet from where I shot him. Thank you Quigs for all of your help....I really appreciate it a lot!
It was my pleasure, I just wished it would have been a better year for the area, 100+ temps for weeks send them to new lands, although its a hell of a nice buck! Great shot, we had some fun, I will post the pics of the Lava beds etc tonight. Great job and I always love a quick and clean kill.
Nice Goat! I just hope you didn't stick your finger in that dark spot under his ear! Are you going to mount the head?
Nice kill. It makes me excited just thinking about my two week hunting trip in December. Cannot get here fast enough.
Initially I was going to have a shoulder mount done, but then with some friendly advice and some thought on it, I'm just going to have a nice European mount done with the skull and horns. It will be on a dark walnut pedestal mount so that the walnut base and antelope's horns contrast against the white skull. It will be very nice when finished.
I don't know Conagher, here is mine with a shoulder mount, that is one thing these goats are good for!
Congratulations. I go for the skull mount, I know its a once in a life time opportunity, all of my Roe deer trophy's are skull mount's. Tony
