Took the plunge, passed the background checks, something as a foreign national is no mean feat let me tell you and am now in the sidearm zone [IMG]

The pistol in question is the fabled CZ -75, this one is a P-07 designating it as a polymer variant. It's in 9mm the military caliber with a long pedigree of use having that sweet spot of balance between power and recoil.

With all the ramble and razmataz about Glocks this and 1911s that it's about time to show you the real deal, all the way from Europe where since 1997 CZ has been officially exporting their wares.

Imo the CZ is the match and possibly the superior choice over the Glock through it's sophistication, robust yet refined manufacturing techniques and of course being one of the original Wonder Nines. [IMG]

Here's the video review, I ramble and it's kinda long (almost Nutnfancy duration?) but there's shooting links to be added and skip-boxes for those wanting it short etc.

Very nice! The main advantage to me over the Glock is that it's double action, single action. I have a Tangfoglio clone of the CZ-75 (not easy to obtain the CZ in the late '80s) that is the only all metal pistol that I've kept. By FAR the most comfortable of the alloy double stackers and shoots like a dream.

Yup, can't go wrong with a CZ. Nice choice. :)

Got 5 years on mine, not too short, not too long, not to worry though...

I hear that, the Tangfoglio's had a reputation for occasional slide failure I've heard, the Glocks just aren't my thing, I fired them, reviewed them and found even the grip of the ugly lumps left much to be desired.

Having said that the Glock 31 is an interesting gun with it's .357 chambering...

Mike Pannone did a great write up on the P-07 Duty a while back:

CZ P-07 Duty: The Best Pistol Nobody Knows About

About the only complaint anyone has about any CZ pistol is the lack of aftermarket support. Other than that, they are a dandy little shooter.

Nice coverage on the CZ. We all have our favorites and that is what makes the market go round and round.

There is really no shortage of high quality polymer firearms.

The problem comes in when you go looking for a holster, extra magazines, parts, and such. At least custom holsters can be made rather easily now out of kydex without breaking the bank, but the holster-maker still needs a blue gun to mold it with.

Aftermarket parts support is why I still like the Glock over most other polymer pistols. I prefer the trigger of a S&W M&P pistol over a Glock, and I prefer the grip of a Walther P99 over a Glock, but try to find the holster you want...

I'm just saying that a person would be well suited to buy an inexpensive police trade in Glock 22 and a 9mm conversion barrel- that way you can shoot 9mm or 40S&W out of the same pistol with the same magazine, and be able to scrounge parts for it if needed.

Anyway, I used to have a Jericho Baby Eagle pistol, which is basically the same design. I thought it was a well built pistol. Again, I could not find holsters for it (late 90's- early 00's) and had to make due with "one size fits x to xx range" holsters. That didn't make for comfortable or easy carry.

Here's the CZ in action, according to the experts my grips and stances aren't A1 but I guess we can't win them allo_O
