Just wanted to say hello here. Member of an FJ Cruiser Forum (Toyota FJ Cruiser SUV), for many years so I'm not new to how forums work or rules of the "Forum". Very interested in reading up on info here on Off Grid living & Prepping in general. I've been into this kind of idea for some time now & would like to absorb the information that I hope is here. Looking forward to asking some really point blank questions on this subject of moving off grid.
Happy to have you. FJ s are pretty cool vehicles. Don't own one myself (have an '06 4 Runner V8 4x4 that I use basically as a workhorse - towing utility trailers and such on and off the pavement) but a couple of my friends own them. For the rougher stuff I use a mildly lifted, regeared older Jeep Wrangler TJ. Too bad the FJs are no longer made. Any rate, planning to move off-grid myself within the next 2-3 years. So ask away. You may have thought of things that I haven't and would be interested in the responses.
Welcome aboard! I always wanted a FJ40, but the prices are way North north of sane, so I stick with my 1945 Willies CJ2B and all is good. 2 in lift, arb air lockers front and rear, later Ford mutt drive train, a 12 volt conversion, and a "New" Warn winch on the bumper gets me into enough trouble as it is!
