Hi, I’m from South Dakota! I just turned 66 about 11 months ago and I am a USN Submarine veteran. I was honorably discharged after completing 6 years active duty (1976-1982), and afterwards another 3 years active reserves: Am an active member of VFW and American Legion. I am a graduate of South Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering; and am also an ordained Christian: Bible teacher and preacher. My wife fought cancer for 19 years, we never had children, and she went to be with the Lord in July 2005. I never remarried. I held jobs as: a television tech and radio station tech, AB DICK printing press operator, grain inspections tech, and an OTR truck driver for several years until COVID19 hit, and then I retired. In June 2021, my father asked me to move into their home with him and my mother, because of their ages (84 at that time) and failing health. My dad passed away February 2023 from "complications of cancer." Now, it is just my mother and me at home on our farm. We rent out our farmland; I am caring for my mother (almost blind): doing the cooking and housekeeping; as well as keeping up the house, out-buildings, and the farmyard. It is my year-round full-time job. I belong to these sites: cityprepping.com AND diysolarforum.com AND counciloftime.com I have been prepping for these past 4 years: We will survive.
