Last night, I spotted a pair of shoes that I had not worn in maybe two years. Looked fine and decided to wear them on my long run day today. Wifee looked at me at said, “Shoes don’t last forever, you know.” So I wore them since they still felt pretty good. And about 1.9 miles in to my run, I felt some flapping under my right shoe. 5598676E-1CA9-4075-84BB-1CA36E639082 by Hanzo posted Aug 5, 2018 at 10:15 Plucked the flappy piece and chucked it. Then more pieces came off. Yup, tread blow out. I decided to turn a round and head back. Then I felt flapping under my left shoe. By the time I got home, most of the rubber had come off. Shoes went in the trash. And I called it a day. 4DE33C93-53E2-468B-9FE1-4F6D243928E2 by Hanzo posted Aug 5, 2018 at 10:15 Post-run snack was lettuce wraps with leftover steak, with hoisin sauce and a chili soy sauce. Always glad to not fall down. I actually tried to keep running with the flapper. But it was irritating, so I tore it off. It was coming off by itself anyway.
I actually tossed it. Laces too. Thought about keeping them, but they are old and have gone through many cycles of rain and sun.
