Clark - "The Star" see The Star (Clarke short story) - Wikipedia This is a well-written story and very thought provoking - and very unusual. My personal take is that most SciFi writers eschew religious subjects out of fear of losing sales. That or they are actively anti-(fill in the denomination) / agnostics.
