Hi folks from across the pond Looking forward to learning plenty of new things on what looks like a very cool site. Have prepped in a low key way since 2010 but nothing on the vast scale of some here Garage converted into long term food storage area Have electric and manual grain mills and a dehydrator 75kg of wheat, spelt and rye grains Plenty pasta, beans and pulses Plenty of tinned food Plenty of frozen meat, fish and fresh vegetables I make nutritious sauerkraut Rainwater collection into a water butt Lifesaver Bottle filter Looking to buy or make a water distiller Grow vegetables and other stuff My passion is making artisan bread which I think will be a useful skill in a SHTF scenario. Good for a staple food and also a useful trading item. See my album for the kind of breads I make. https://www.survivalmonkey.com/media/users/panadero.16342/albums Currently making sourdoughs for my neighbour during the Covid lockdown. Guessing others here may also have bread making skills but if not this is something I bring and can contribute to the community here. AMA. Cheers Panadero
Good start, bread man. With that stuff in the garage, you should be good for few minutes. But I'd be inclined to put some of it in a box right by the door, just in case. (And a rented shed on the other side of town might not be out of line for half of it.) Well, yes, you can, they don't eat much.
Welcome from the Inland North West.. used to bake bread and even made my own pasta. Life gets busy and took me away from a lot of activities. Look forwards to your take on the bakers art..
welcome! looking forward to seeing your posts for artisan breads. Do you use commercial yeast or make your own?
