In the picture the little bull is protecting the 5 day old calf. Depending on what you are carrying and your needs you might take both alive. The cow and calf are seen shortly after the birth.
You'd best know beeves or that cow will stomp you to the point where you will wish for a quick death, but it will be slow and painful.
Yup, but raised her also and been in my own over watch of her during her first birthing when two Yotes were circling her and her first born. One yote died at close range as it tried for the calf. We Be Best Buds.
That makes all the difference in the world. Happen upon that situation after the cow has not been around humans and the outcome is likely to be more similar to that of the Yotes!
Many years ago, we were mountain biking up this hill and spy a lone tree at the top. So we make for it. As we get closer, see three boulders under the tree. Get closer and the biggest one stood up. With massive long horns. The momma and calf stayed down. That bull was just huge. So we stopped. When it took a step towards us, you wouldn't believe how fast we turned around and flew down the side of the hill.
