More Nanny State Racing. The PPIHC board of directors issued a statement saying "that in order to determine the long-term viability of the motorcycle program there will be no motorcycle program offered in 2020 so that race organizers can gather data and analytics to review more thoroughly the impact on the overall event in the absence of this program." Pikes Peak eliminates motorcycles for 2020, maybe forever - RevZilla
After the Government has locked you up and run a couple series of mental evaluations in a vast variety of stress situations, The Government may terminate you as a threat to society, or let you work for the rest of your life in a suitable government closely supervised job for room and board as well as medical care. Or in the rare case that you are considered harmless to others and suitably neutered you will be released on your own under constant oversight and watchful eye of big brother. Toe the line or else .....
Strange, when I raced 50cc GP, 125cc GP and 500cc (Kawasaki Triple two stroke with a hinge in the middle) Street classes we never had such problems, but of course it was all motorcycles. Most of that was in pre nanny California the rest in Texas. Even the Aqua Festival in Austin was squirrely with no controls and Fans running across the track, still you had a choice to race or not. We even raced at Texas A&M University in the 70s, the straight was what was the entry exit road to the university. Other tracks such as found in Texas had good crowd control as they were Drag Strips on Saturday & Sunday nights, which meant blown engines and 100s of feet of burned rubber and trashed Trannies with Tranny Fluid to skate across with your Bike. You paid your entry fee, had the safety inspection and had a ball. No Nannies wanted or Allowed.
They did that so they could race higher powered international street racers and to get rid of the Stock Car Trash. Follow the money.
