This one has a rotary encoder, thus no need for tiresome button pushing. 20W, internal tuner, attachable rechargeable battery pack and covers everything that the old FT-817 provided, but in a manpack style case. I say "style" as the sides of the case are wide open, so it is anything but splash-resistant. This is a SDR based rig with all the problems that come with.
