    On Friday, if I have to go somewhere, I have one of those Red Friday shirts to wear.

    Where Did R.E.D. Friday Come From? - Soldiers' Angels

    Most thorough story on the origins of Red Shirt Friday that I can find. It was passed among my local veteran's organizations early on, and from retiree to retiree. Being a military town, it took off quickly here.
