My Kinco gloves that are worn in and perfect. Not sure whether to repair or replace. The rip keeps growing, cannot recall how it even happened.

Replace...but keep for 2nd line uses. The gloves could be restitched with some difficulty, depending on one's leatherworking skills, but I'm doubtful that doing so would extend its effective life much.

The leather is probably compromised. Time for a new pair. I put a date on mine and usually get a year out of them.

My leather working skills are not good. I have tried because I am great at mending but sewing leather is more difficult.

I am not a leatherworker either but I suspect that you'll need a narrow length of leather to anchor the stitching with.

    An epoxy patch?

Let's fix em! And when we get done with that, I've got a great idea about how to reuse toilet paper...

Thread should be a waxed flat nylon lacing, needle should be a curved style. Lacing should be at least 3 passes past the tear points. Tandy has what ever you need.

    Buy new...practice repair on old

You’ll need a large needle or sewing awl.

Any heavy nylon thread should work.

I've used fishing line before for a few heavy duty repairs . I'm not going to say it was an ideal repair ,, but it worked for a good while .

Get a couple feet of 550 parachute cord. Usually comes in mil-spec O.D. color. Inside that O.D. outer fabric are about 6 (more or less) small inner nylon-type lines that make the inner core of the parachute cord. They are relatively thin, but when compared to normal thread are probably 4-times as thick.

So, it will require a heavy duty needle with a large diameter eye, and maybe a Leatherman or Gerber multi-tool pliers to help pull the needle through the thick leather. I have used such thread in making just the repair you are considering. It can be a workout for the fingers, so be careful with where that needle is going when using a lot of finger pressure.

Don't worry about making the stitches neat. It's a work glove. I finish the job by coating the stitching with an all-purpose adhesive such as Devcon Home Weld-It. The glove will work good as new, but will look like Dr. Frankenstein stitched it up.(y)

That's way past duct-tape or super-glue. I'd get some new ones and keep those for light-duty work. You could try to repair them (call it practice for the future) but you might destroy them in the process.

I go through a pair of gloves probably every six months..... they get used most every day.
I usually buy the same type of gloves, so I save any survivor gloves and eventually I might get a match, or at least a working pair.
Though I tend to tear up right hand gloves more.... have a pile of lefties in a bin....lol.

Now we all know Moto and her ways.
She will repair the damage.... just to prove a point!! (y)
