I suppose I should add that the term "keyboard Kommando" would fit this little jerks MO - bad news for him that weapons were found in the home, thus, to many in tPTB, he had the means to carry out his threats. Funny that shooting off your mouth is a crime, but bring your children with you when you break the law and cross the border is great. Think at least there should be charges of child endangerment if they suffer injuries in crossing known dangerous crossing points and taking a 15 year old girl from a 40 year old man that she is not related is viewed as cruel and unusual punishment. I know that if I as a citizen checked into a motel with a 13 year old girl that I was not related to, a lot of questions would be asked and the first duty of law enforcement would not be my desires, but the welfare of the child, as it should be. I am afraid that if we have the regime change desired by the left, many of our past actions and comments will be weaponized against us. The elephant in the room in my mind was the bump stock prohibition, don't have one, think they are garbage, but they were made illegal and no mention was made of paying you for the taking of something that was legal when it was purchased, and no grandfathering of existing stocks.

Agreed @duane. The problem is not the banning of the bump stocks themselves. The problem is the legal precedent. Imagine the next administration being a Warren or any one of the leftists for that matter- it could happen. Now, because of the bump stock legal precedent, the government via executive order can outlaw and confiscate without compensation every piece of equipment you own that operates with an internal combustion engine. That's cars and trucks, generators, air compressors, pumps, air planes, boats, tractors and other farm equipment. I probably missed a few but you get the idea. The left considers Global Warming an impending emergency that requires immediate action.
I remember seeing a photo of a female comedian holding what was certainly a facsimile of the bloody severed head of a sitting president. I watched a video of a female pop singer shouting into a microphone that she has dreams of blowing up the White House. Just the other night a protestor standing in front of a senator's home wanted someone to stab him in his heart. I could go on and on and on, but you get the picture. To my knowledge none of these examples were ever investigated or suffered legal punishment for the threats. They were all leftists. That kid in Alaska should have had better sense. Why anyone would wish the death of others over such trivial things as differing opinions is just a sign of a sickening society swirling down the crapper. But we must notice too how the "swift arm of justice" descends on non-leftists while leftists get a walk. In case no one has noticed, we no longer have "the rule of law" in this country. What we have now is a tiered punishment (it can no longer be called "justice") system where if you are in the right circles you may get a slap and if you are not you go to prison for a long time. What once passed for justice has been weaponized and is wielded against those who prefer not to be a member of the herd, especially those who also speak out and call attention to the rampant hypocrisy and insanity that has taken root in once highly revered institutions. What passes for law today is not meant to cultivate civility or improve society, instead they are used to punish those in the opposition. I truly fear for my country.

In recent times, people (mainly, but not exclusively angry white males White American men are a bigger domestic terrorist threat than Muslim foreigners ), have acted upon their expressed hatred, and have attempted (some successfully, and some not successfully) to harm fellow human beings by shooting them, stabbing them, bombing them, or by simply running them over with motor vehicles. There are also other prescient lines in the same song (Buffalo Springfield's "For What Its Worth". The tragic thing, is that some people actually do act upon their hateful manifestos....yes, sadly, running off at the mouth these days has far too frequently resulted in carnage not so long afterwards...that is not a reason for fearful paranoia: however It is good reason for taking such threats seriously, and investigating them until the threat, one way or another, is neutralised.
Liberal vs conservative "chest thumping"? Really? Liberal vs conservative is truly a convenient and simplistic means of categorization, and an erroneous one, at best. We are currently engaged in a life or death struggle between light and darkness. Between those who espouse the United States was formed fraudulently and must be re-tooled to align with the vision of socialist/communist ideology vs the side who holds to the truths enumerated by the Founders in our foundational documents, the Constitution/Bill of rights and the original Declaration of Independence. Once when I was passing by one of my uncles place, I saw three Sheriff's cruisers with flashing lights at his place. He had a stroke a few months before and his wife let her never hold a job, felon, jackass son move in. As I'm slowing down I see the stepson being put in the back of a patrol car in cuffs. The deputies told me to move along until I demanded to know if my uncle was okay. They said he was fine and the reason they arrested the stepson was that he had been drinking and arguing with the neighbors and had fired my uncle's Taurus Judge into the ground to "warn them not to come after him". They were going to just write a report and let everyone calm down, until he mentioned he was felon. They said he wouldn't shut up and eventually talked himself into getting arrested for felon in possession of a firearm. The prosecutor dropped it down to a misdemeanor public intox and confiscated the pistol.
