Self-Watering Seed Starters or Herb Pots

Okay, I know some people are going to wonder if I'm obsessed with plastic bottles. The fact of the matter is that they're free, they last FOREVER, and if the project doesn't work out, you can still recycle them.

I have used this method of plant propogation and it works well. I like the idea with the string wick which is an improvement on my method of allowing the neck to dip into the water reservoir.

 

If you can get the big bottles used in offices....wood chips.

 

What kind of big bottles? You mean 5 gallon water bottles?
