I saw this on another forum and wondered what this forum had to say. There was everything from civil war, war, socialism, electrical system failure, muslin take over, open borders, ice age, planet warming, and some crazy things. What are your ideas on this? Will social security still be here? What will happen to our country in the next ten years?

Back in the 70s and 80s all of the same things were being said and very little of it came to pass. Much different kind of people in the last two generations though, the youngest generation being the most disturbing to me. Zero respect for anything or anyone except for the constant quest for instant gratification and the illusion of being safe and secure. I don't know what the America 10 years will be......... But I hear the sound of a very large toilet flushing and am thinking everything that was America is not far from swirling down.

My crystal ball is kinda cloudy on this, but by trying to be as independant and resilient as possible I hope to be around to see a decade or two down the road...

You FlatLanders can pass anything you like, but that doesn't mean it will change anything out here in the Alaskan Bush...

I see the continued rise of "City-States" where a single urban area controls an entire State or several States for that matter.

We see this today in the NE corridor, and in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, LA and Phoenix for example.

As seen today in France, 'flyover country' will be taxed to death to support the lifestyle of the urban monkeys. Rural monkeys would do well to be ready to cut ties to those unsustainable urban cesspits.

Pay attention and learn the lessons shown elsewhere - or pay the price.

    YMMV

    10 years?
No cash, rfid everywhere for identification for purchase of goods and services.
    cameras everywhere
restrictions on driving personal vehicles (ex. not corporate self drivers) in major cities and some progressive suburbs. with exceptions carved out for politicos and police/military
restrictions on having a private well, rain capture and growing your own food.

Once libraries and free unfettered access to information are gone .. so will be the will of the people to resist the propaganda.

Ok, it might take 20 but after that .. they can pretty much do whatever they want and no one will be the wiser.

Lots of people on the internet bitching about how the world is going to hell and how much better it was 20yrs ago....:D

Taxes will be higher, wages also will be higher, stuff will be more expensive and be of lesser quality than the gear we had in 2019, India will be the new cheap manufacturing source eventually eclipsing China and a few of us will have passed away from one thing or another.

Oh and Chelsea Clinton will be making a tilt for the White House...

Longer term.....say 20-30 years out, I think it all hinges on energy. Before the discovery/use of coal/oil/cheap energy, world population was relatively stable around 500 million. And after hydrocarbons goes away.....and that just means it cost more in terms of energy to pull it out of the ground versus what you get in return....AND assuming we don't come up with something like 'too-cheap-to-meter' fusion electricity....the world is going back to what it will sustainably support.

For a view of what it will look like in the short run, read Kunstler's "World Made By Hand". I think his angle is correct, but his timing is off.

I don't expect a huge difference in 10 years...we'll be more in debt....social security is a joke already, they will continue to print & pay because the alternative is politically unacceptable, while stealing it back by lost purchasing power via inflation from the very same printing. Gasoline will be sky high, because the 'shale boom', which is really a financial wool pulling of the first order, will collapse from debt. No doubt we'll still be sending our youth off to resource wars trying to grab what is left of the pie. There will be less freedom, more govt control than today.

Unless we get cheap energy... (like Fusion) the next war will be about Energy, ABSOLUTELY... If you have it, the Big Boys want it, and they will kill to take it...

I say look at who is trying to lead or push us into that future.. The NGO's that are influencing our local politicions. Some may scoff but the "They's" have our future planned out already.. And I do not believe it will include me.. Look up "America2050.org" for an example of the grand utopia they envision.

I'm not so sure of that, but men of the cloth (muslin or otherwise) will be fleecing their flocks like they always have.

The USA becoming the Republic of Gilead won't happen within 10 years...but that is the direction that 7 Mountains Dominionism would like to take America.

I think the country is in serious trouble. I was reading about how all the old rock and roll groups are dying. The writers say good riddance! I hear the rap crap from young idiots at work and they admit they never even try listening to anything else! It's really tough to not yell at them that their music is what gangbangers and blacks in the hood like also. Naturally, they all hate our country and all the whites are Nazis and blah blah blah. Surrounded by idiots.
