Good question. I'm not one who can quote scripture, but I think it can be inferred since we are on the verge of the first one world government, over which the AC will preside. It wouldn't be a great shock to me.
One world government is somewhat subjective. Several times there have been empires that subjugated and ruled the "known" world. I can't see every country on Earth buying in to anything. N. Korea, China, Yemen, Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Chad, and more all have leaders who think they have a good thing going for them (or at least a fall from power might be disastrous for them). Others have populations hard wired not to return to colonialism. US, Mexico, and the rest of the Americas (except Canada and Argentina), and a lot of Sahel Africa. We can throw in the unconquerable Vietnamese and Afghans, too.

Just to show where she got her inspiration, and 'speculative' dribble from.
