The book sold over 2.6 million copies despite being denounced by prominent historians as "distorted, manipulative, and plain dishonest."³ Former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels called it "a truly execrable, anti-factual piece of disinformation" after Zinn’s death in 2010.⁴ Conservative scholars weren’t the only ones criticizing Zinn’s work. Even liberal historians like Martin Duberman admitted the book presents "a partial and thereby distorted account" that "has been justly criticized as leaving out too much."⁵ Stanford education professor Sam Wineburg noted the book appeals to teenagers’ "inner Holden Caulfield" by portraying America’s heroes as "shameless frauds" and parents and teachers as "conniving liars."⁶ But the NEA doesn’t care about accuracy or balance. Answer -----Home school or private school. It was a struggle financially but my 3 boys went to private school they were not indoctrinated with liberal bullshit. They are all conservatives
I believe the era of Public School is over. A better solution and a better education are private schools and/or homeschool. I think it would be simple to transition to Private schools simply by using the current tax money that a person currently pays and let choose which schools they want to purchase for their children and let competition do the rest. The other point I would make is to look at Finland's schools, how they are currently ranked in the world and how seriously they take the position of 'teacher.'
The problem is these liberal universities indoctrinate these teachers with their liberal crap. My daughter-in-law got her PhD at the University of South Carolina in teaching --she and a student from Ecuador were the only conservatives in the program. Needless to say they kept their mouths shut out of fear of not getting their doctorates. Went to her graduation and the PhD thesis of all were WOKE crap mostly blacks racism. this racism that. No hope for government run (won't call them schools) indoctrination camps --Home school or private school is the only answer
