A work in progress. The wood is Tulip Popular and as i understand it, that was from the only tree that Thomas planted. I will try to get photos of the guard. Lot of work to go.
Thomas Jefferson was a plantation owner, and renowned scientist, who dabbled in politics. He planted a lot of things; well, he had people (aka slaves) that did the actual work, but the gardens and orchards at his plantation, Monticello, was a giant science project devoted to the improvement of agriculture.
There used to be a guy that specialized in cutting and trimming historical trees. I bought quite a bit from him before he died. But i have a lot of materials, say for instance for music lovers. I have a spike from the crossing where Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the devil to be able to play the blues, and for the damascus i could use pure nickle from old disk in which the pressed orginial vinal records on. I have several of those old nickle master plates.
