    I can certainly say I'm grateful to see you posting here. (y)
    I'm not as active as I'd like to be, but I appreciate the people who contribute to this place in their own positive way.

    ,,,,prob tmi but. when i was a kid i meditated and did some yoga. step dad caught me doing the plow in bed and figured i was trying to suck myself. no convincing him other wise. sadly knowing you have psychosomatic blocks is not a cure for them. i need to work on that.

    I'm the only one who swims as the main workout, especially underwater, almost every day ;)

    I also walk, hike and jog every week

    Hi there ;) Wishing you a good workout!
    Do you work out at a gym or at home? Do you use a lot of equipment?

    Yeah, swimming is a great workout and great breathing exercise, especially underwater,
    especially if the pool is big enough, or in saltwater. And you don't get hot. But it helps if the water is warm.

    My normal workout is swimming laps underwater for 1 hour a day, 6 days a week on average (heated pool helps);
    walking or hiking a few or several miles a few times a week if it's not too hot;
    jogging once or twice a week

    Do you have any lifetime fitness achievements?

    For me, a few times a year, swimming 4 miles along the beach in shallow water, taking a break halfway.
    Also swimming underwater up to 120 meters/yards without coming up for air.
    Helps a lot with jogging!

    In my late teens, early 20s, hiking ~24 miles at 7,500-10,000 ft elevation in early summer;
    also hiking ~24 miles from 500 to 7,500 ft and back in early summer
    (San Jacinto Mountains outside of Palm Springs, California)

    A few times a year I still hike up to 30mi in a day,
    that's my maximum so far, but at normal elevation. 15-20mi is more typical for the "long hike"
    (in the desert from Pinyon Pines to Cathedral City in the Palm Springs area)
    And at temperatures less than 95F/35C if it is dry heat, 86F/30C if it is humid
    Jogging only up to 6 miles before I get bored & tired. And I'm not a fast runner & don't like running very much.

    I don't think I could have done that even in my 20s! I'm no distance runner, but I can walk a long time. I know I can do better with staying in shape. About 4 years ago, I started walking 2-3 miles around my immediate neighborhood and after a couple weeks, I did notice my weight dropping. I lost about 20 pounds or so after a month. Probably helped with my pre-diabetic condition to do that. I was doing it mostly in fall and winter when it wasn't so hot. Anything over 90 degrees and I can't hack it. Now that it's summer, I'm not doing it, (and sitting staring at my computer too long) and I don't want my weight to creep back up. I'm trying to eat as healthy and as little as I can since your metabolism slows down as you age.

    Nothing new to report really. One week until my BJJ tournament. Like always my goal is to smash everyone in front of me, then help them up. Lol.
