So I bought a optic that was perfect for my new lever action or I thought. Loved how it was shake wake and had solar they were why I bought it! Problem was that at its lowest point it was 50 yards + high at 100 yards. This is my wife's weapon she likes optic on her weapon. So that's not going to change! Yet I'm looking for advice about an optic! Don't say Primary arms! I have bought three optics from them in the past five years and have returned all of them so to not working. Including this optic hard to trust a company that has sent 100% duds to you! Not only talking about there products top of the line optics with nothing but problems you send it back and they don't say anything if they are going to give you a refund or send you a new optic. So look for something to replace the optic!
I'm have a folding full buckhorn rear sight sight on my Model 94, but if I wanted to put an optic on it I'd probably go with something low power and long eye relief. I think of lever gun calibers as suitable for 100 yards or so. I'm sure there are calibers suited to longer range shooting, but you haven't mentioned anything like that and that's a practical distance around here. 1.5X to 2X are a little improvement on open sights, and darn near as fast to get on target.
That depends on a lot. For me on my 30-30 probably a 150yd zero, 12 power ziess with moa Christmas tree. Most people, probably not. What caliber and what are the intended uses?
Too many variables, not enough data. I certainly don't use same scope on a .22lr that I use on the .308.
Some suggestions here: Optic help please! Looking for ideas since Primary arms sucks How does she use the rifle?
