I sort of see Zionism like American 'Manifest Destiny', sort of... I mean, if you look at any of the major nations, they simply weren't born with the borders they have today. No. Some grew from conquest or purchase or annexation. Some shrank from the same reasons. Russia, Germany, France, China, etc...

How they came about, via revolution or conquest or etc. might differ but they all never stop evolving in size, in population, in wealth, in influence - more or less.

Zionism, as I understand it from watching this video and others, basic core is about 'the need to create a Jewish homeland in the land of Israel,' which isn't much different from the European refugees escaping religious and governmental bias and laws to the New World who wanted a new homeland, later calling themselves Americans. Yes, there were indigenous people already there and cohabitation was tried and you can make a good case that it failed, not totally, but the new arrivals became the new power and leadership of both Israel and America. That's what happened. That is reality. Is it fair? Maybe not to the Native Americans or maybe it is considering they live in a strong, advanced, secure nation. Dunno. Don't care. It is what happened and won't change.

However, this story isn't too different in many other countries. For example, the birth or unifying of Germany, orchestrated by Bismarck via realpolitik, is much the same in 'might makes right' for via conquest they took land, resources and population so...

Now, the difference between many of these major powers is both Israel and America are young nations so who knows if they will lose land, lose wealth, lose influence or even exist in the future. Many say America has reached its peak and is in decline...maybe, maybe not.

Israel has shown they have a right to exist, that right is backed up by strength of arms, a strong will, and a desire to work within the international community. They have done very well since 1948 to actually survive as a nation and a people.

Yes, the Palestinian people also have a right to exist. What they do not have a right to is my sympathy when they commit murder and atrocities when Israel retaliates in kind. The have also shown they cannot be trusted by their neighbors, the international community and certainly not the Israelis. In my mind, the Palestinians have a choice, either go to their graves and the world will soon forget they ever existed, or live within the guidelines of the world community, perhaps under Israeli leadership or another country but that's it. That's their choice. They are out of options because the world is out of patience and no longer give a damn if they live or die...in many ways, I think the middle east countries wants them dead so they should consider this...

Anyway, I apologize for the Israel vs. Palestine rant but she, the narrator, started it with her tripe and that is exactly what it is - tripe. I am so sick of these Leftists surreal nonsense that don't have a drop of common sense or reality.
