A few months ago, I discovered a long human hair in my bowl of HEB brand oatmeal. Really ticked me off, and I only bought Quaker brand with no further problems. Wanting to send some cookies to my son, the wife bought all the old fashion oatmeal on the shelf and was forced to purchase the HEB brand to complete the number of cookies she wanted to bake. After the project, there was a little of the HEB brand left so I fixed it this morning for breakfast. Guess what I found, another long human hair. I will be contacting HEB main office tomorrow morning. This crap was produced in Canada of all places. Hill Country Fare, their house brand, sucks for most items, and I rarely buy any. There is no excuse for this shoddy type of production, especially since their house brands are only a few cents lower than name brand items. The jerks are worse than WalMart at times. Jim
I'm generally happy with HEB and buy the store brand stuff almost exclusively. I haven't found any hair or weirdness in the products so far. I ate way to much hair in the 80s and 90s.
Gotta ask buddy, your wife wear a hair net while cooking? I see hair in my toothbrush alla time.- and I keep my mouth closed. Wife wants to comb her hair in da can - I got no problem.
You need to check out some of the foreign (aka non-food) objects are allowed in food products, things like hair, nuts, bolts and washers, springs, insect parts, insect and rodent droppings, rocks, dirt, etc.!
It was a blonde hair, wife is a brunet. If this had been a one time occurrence, I would not have liked it but would have gotten over it. But twice in a row?
Ahhhh I think I understand... "And just where did that long blond hair come from, buster?" "It was in the, er, um, er, oatmeal?"
I once boycotted Waffle House for twenty years after finding a burnt match at the bottom of my coffee cup, AFTER I had drunk it all.
My wife found a nasty long ghetto ready fingernail in the bottom of her milkshake cup from Dairy Queen and I boycotted their drinks for life. I still eat the food.
