Went to pick up Riding Lawnmower from our mower guy. Halfway home saw Turtle in middle of Road. Stopped & went back. Looked to see which way he was going. Picked him up & moved him a foot past the highway in that direction. Hopped in truck & came home. Ran over squirrel a mile from home. o_O

Since the squirrel was in the road is that assisted suicide.

Yeppers, the critters are spitting the dummy crossing roads around here, too. Uncounted squirrels, porkies, raccoons, skunks, and ground hogs. I guess the gene pools are doing the annual spring cleaning up. Tanker duals don't leave much for the stews ---

Was awakened early this morning by the chickens .A fox was cutting them away from the goat to get at them .By the time I got the shotgun he was on his way with said chicken .I took a shot but he was 40 or more yards off ,I was hoping to get lucky .
Seems like the animal kingdom have run a muck .
Two nights ago I shot 2 coons that were in the barn after the feed there. Maybe it's just spring and all but have never had this much trouble with weather as mild as it's been .

So how did you fix those coons? Parboiling with a bit of vinegar added to the salt and water will remove alot of the excess fat and speed up your cooking time, and you can always finish the pieces in the oven slathered with a good BBQ sauce. Sweet tators usually make a good side.
