Does anyone know where I can find larger capacity mags for a Winchester model 100 chambered in .243? Four round mags just ain't enough bullets and I really like this rifle. [gun]

Okay I did a serious search, and the problem is this rifle has been out of production for some time. I found info on two after-market producers of magazines for that rifle in 8 to 10 rounds or more. Both are now completely defunct companys. Hy Hunter produced 10-20-30 rounders, but have been gone for 20 plus years. Colyer produced a 8 to 10 round version still occasionally available at online gun parts auctions such as gun broker. The .308 magazine by them will work for .243 (.243 is just necked down .308) it fits both model 88 and model 100 also. What you are looking for is "Colyer clip magazine, model 1088-1". Do not get the model 1088-2 as it is for the .284.
    .
additionally I found references to gunsmith modified M-14 magazines working for .243 or .308 in the model 100 winchester. Good Luck. I think this is going to be a long fruitless search on your part. Expect to pay $75 to $90 minimum and then shipping to get one if you can find it.

Thanks for the feedback. I knew it was going to be tough to find something. If this rifle were not a "family" inherited arm I would probably sell/trade it for something newer and more supportable.

The thing is, he is looking for Higher capacity magazines. He clearly states he is not satisfied with four round magazines.
