If one brave, determined person only armed with hunting rifles could account for this many attackers, imagine how a determined group of survivors armed with modern semi, hi capacity auto rifles could do. That is why the right to arm ourselves with more than just hunting rifles is so important...

That is what Mexico needs- just a few people to stand up to these guys. It cost him his life, but he may have started something greater than himself. I will be interested in how it plays out, if at all. Regardless, may he rest in peace.

He's a great example to the rest of us; wish he could have made it through to tell the story. God bless him.

WOW, just WOW. My hats off to Don Alejo Garza Tamez, standing up to the thugs in a no win situation. More people in Mexico need to be like him, hopefully this will be just the start.

We need more people in this country to stand up against all wolves. I know there are a bunch here in this forum and others are in other forums like this in this country. The common everyday thug is not the only "wolf" we need to worry about. Wolves are everywhere, Now is our time to stand up and be counted, sheepdog's.

It is a shame that Don died defending his property, but just maybe it will serve as a
wake-up call to poeple around the world that there are those willing to kill and take everything away from you that you and only you have built up.

Don you the man. A very brave man. This is the very reason I'm looking to trade my .308 bolt gun in on a AR-10.

    A Magnificent Act of Heroism

His solitary act of heroic defiance in the face of multiple hostiles confronting him speaks eloquently of his courage.

Let's hope that his heroic stand does ignite still more defiance in Mexico to stand against and roll back the tide of evil.

A brave man, Don Alejo. Wonder how his brother is faring? If he's of the same caliber as the Don, those thugs will get whittled down more.

Good Idea. Everyone in my family has gone to the AR-10 rifle with a minimum of ten 20 round magazines and appropriate optics (NVD and scopes) With those and the AR-15's and AK's, the amount of well aimed deliberate firepower we can put downrange will be devastating if the need arises. This man reminds of many of Americans a generation or two ago.

A few well placed anti personnel devices would have really been an asset to his defense. Shame he lost his life in his bid for freedom from oppression.

What a man! It would have been an honor just to know him.

    RIP Brother!

Someone there made the comment about how here in America we have our own problems with the Crips and Bloods, etc. and that few stand up to them. They are right, and more should and could be done to stand up to this riff raff. Of course rule of law does tend to get in the way of resistance and that happens in all countries.

I just had a thought. It wouldn't surprise me if all this hooplah about American firearms being smuggled into Mexico is because TPTB figure that the guns ae going to Mexican civilians and don't care what the cartel's have or get.

    RIP, an honorable man.
The Mexican Government acquires small arms and other items like grenades and launchers as well. Their weapon facilities are open to the highest bidder. (Not officially of course, but the guy with the key that night is king) How many FFL dealers in America would have the nutz to sell them launchers and grenades at that volume?

If we stop the drugs (and yes, it is possible) we also stop supplying:
    Republican blue-blood constituents with labor.
Democratic voting blocks of people that need big-.gov assistance (not all of course)

Twenty to Thirty thousand innocent Mexicans a year are spilling their blood on the rails of the Drug Train so it will run smoothly. If we didn't want the drugs, they wouldn't come this way.
I have a couple of relatives that do drugs, I wonder if they know how much blood was spilled for them to have their dope.

That's a good thought, Jim2. Makes perfect sense. It's well known that the cartels shop for full auto stuff, grenades and RPG's in Belize.

TPTB only care about disarming the people, which explains their obsession with American gun shows and the relative few guns that make it south of the border.

This probably deserves a thread of it's own, but I couldn't resist: All we have to do to get rid of the drug problem is decriminalize drugs. Our drug laws are nothing more than price supports, and they are so effective at artificially inflating the price of drugs that people are willing to risk death for the insane profits the laws make possible.

Humans are very addictive creatures - whether it's drugs, alcohol, sex, religion, multi-level marketing, gambling, adrenaline or whatever. (Of course, the most frightening addicts of all are the power seekers...) You'll never eliminate the demand for drugs, so if you wish to eliminate all the associated violence all you can do is repeal the price supports.

The fact that prohibition is still in place after a conspicuous decades-long failure to fix anything proves that the real motive behind these laws is something other than what's publicly claimed.

Jeff Cooper would have loved this. Don Alejo exemplified valor. This needs to be a case study for all survivalists, as this mischief is coming soon to addresses like ours.

I've always felt that the ones most opposed to drugs being legalized would be the cartels themselves, because they don't like being visible. RIP Don Alejo
