Most Everything you Might Want to Know about Kerosene

I found this site thru some surfing and thought I would share. I know it answers some questions I had thought about and some I hadn't even thought of about kerosene.

KEROSENE FUEL PRIMER

 

kerosene is NOT the same as it was 40 years ago
the smell, burning or just in the can is different
and it doesnt burn the same
when i was young all our lights were kerosene lamps
and it was my job to keep the mantles clean and fill the tanks
so i got pretty used to the smell and how it worked
the dyed stuff isnt too bad in a lamp if you know how to run one
ive seen an awful lot of people just crank the wick as high as it'll go
this just makes soot, you keep it turned down low so its burning just
fuel and not wick, once its going good this gives a brighter
evener light

 

+1 for the kerosene...At grandmaw's house if you got a little cut or scrap...
Grandma would douse it with kerosene...Seemed to work just fine for her...
