Bring all the troops home from all our foreign wars/bases and put them on the border. A fully equiped soldier every 5 feet, a tank and artillery every few hundred yards, drones and fighter jets constantly patroling the border. The Coast Guard in the water in TX and CA. All with the order to shoot on sight of a person entering illegally. Do you think anyone would consider trying to come across the border illegally then?
I'm pretty sure if "they" would just allow armed citizen volunteers to patrol the border the illegal immigrant thing would stop PDQ. But alas, there is simply too much money in the government "fighting this problem" for anything effective to be done about it.

I don't know about the sweat shops Beast, but, they sure are out in force in the farmers fields of Northern Michigan..
i used to work on the pickle farm near pinconning place was always loaded with migrant illegals used to beller out, "immigration is here" just to watch em run....lol
To tell you the truth, I don't want our government fencing,walling nor sensoring our borders. Worse yet, posting boys and girls in uniform with things that go bang all around our nation. Did you ever consider that those forces keeping illegal immigrants out, could also be used to keep us in?

While I agree with the sentiment (bring the troops home, and the need to stop the border issues), the French tried something similar... the Maginot line. It didn't work out so well for the frogs Seriously, I do believe that the best defense is a good offense. So, I'm not a fan of using troops that may be needed for something else. I think to properly discourage, we would have a crack down to which has never been seen. Unfortunately, there are too many "sympathizers" creating amnesty zones to be effective. Until we make our gov't responsible for upholding the laws we voted them into office to make, nothing will be done. Check out Larry Dever's statements. 1) Feds must enforce laws with seriousness- no BSing to make it appear that arrests are down 2) States need to enact local laws to enforce the Fed laws 3) No more DLs for foreigners 4) No more jobs for foreigners (helps economy as well) 5) Hold "safe haven" politicians accountable- after a few are serving felony charges, that crap will stop 6) Want emergency health care? Fine, we'll save your life... so you can be deported 7) No general practice health care That's the few things that I can think of that would help.
No entitlements and fines for those who employ them with jail time for repeat offenders. However, there would be 30 plus million rioting illegals if the gravy train was shut off.
And that is a real danger. In my town, the entire City Commission is corrupt, we have had members prosecuted for crimes and still served on the Commission and never went to jail. Even our Mayor is in Federal hot water now, but will likely weather it okay. They are heavily into the "Entitlement" protections (VOTES, baby!) and craft their laws and regulations accordingly. When the economy finally gets to the point of the Welfare checks not going out - WATCH OUT!
