This morning started out like many other mornings.. The dog wanted to eat and go outside. I needed to get my son ready for school etc etc. I noticed my dog acting really squirrel'y and running around like a jack-ass; wanting to hide under my desk. He likes to sleep under my desk any way, and he is a jack-ass so I didn't think much of it.. bu the behavior continued and he's still doing it. Odd, I thought.

Then I take my son outside to get on the school bus. About 5 minutes later we saw a lot of birds fly over head.. I thought "Wow, that's a lot of birds.. " and they just kept coming... for like 5 minutes.. about a 1 mile WIDE stretch of birds flying ... NORTH!!.. there must have been about 15k+ birds heading in the wrong freaking direction. I've NEVER seen that many birds fly over head like that and certainly not NORTH when the weather just got really cold. Guys, when I say a lot of birds.. I mean it. I wish I had my camera with me but I kept thinking "By the time I get it, it'll be over".. I should have gotten it. If it took me 2 minutes to get it, I still wouldn't have missed the show.

Dog acting weird.. birds flying the wrong direction ... call me paranoid, but I'll be "watching the news" today. [dunno]

Something is "up"! Critters are the quickest to react to an unknown force or when nature is about to toss something weird our way! It's good that their senses can pick up on things we humans have no idea about! Now, if we could only tap into that 6th sense!

There's a coastal storm coming up, they might be bailing out of the way.

It must be one hell of a storm to do that.

Minor correction to the direction. They were headed NNW. Pretty much in the direct opposite direction of the coast/storm. But yeah.. it could be the the storm. If it is...this warm weather must have caught them off guard, because they're going to have to do one hell of a U-Turn around the western part of NY and down through to get south :).

I'm surprised I didn't get pooped on with all those birds flying over.. lol.

"They say" up to 7 inches of heavy wet, depending (of course) on track.

7? pffft. that's nuffin.. HOWEVER.. the trees are still pretty heavy with leaves.. so that could be very problematic with heavy, wet, snow.. uh oh.. Downed power lines come to mind..

but hey. I have my preps..so I feel ok :)

We were expecting Hurricane Rina to cross southern Florida on Monday, but she lost power quickly, barely a TS now and decided to stay over Cancun. Suits me.

Probably all the hot air coming out of Albany is confusing them:))

I am SOOOO glad I finally wised up and left that state for CO.
First thing I did when I got here was buy a AR and send a pic of it and me to my local politician back in Utica/Rome and tell her to Kiss my freedom loving A**.

Great way to end up on a watch list... I wouldn't advise sending pictures of yourself and a weapon to any politician. That just makes you look unstable.
