I have been thinking about getting several of the outside solar lights.
Them creating a rack of then for just the purpose of recharging
    Batteries.

I bought one and it seems you can turn off the light so
Using them as charging stations look possible.
Has anyone done this and is it practical?

Thanks for the information. I think that's going to be my next project.
How long does it normally take for a full charge?

Yes maybe but multiple single charges sounds like more fun.
