This is probably going to be one of the most controversial videos I will ever post. This is NOT medical advice by any means, I would tell you to do your own research and see what works out best for you before putting alcohol of any proof in your kit. This video is intended to be a show of what I carry out in the woods with me and to express MY opinion. I cannot be held responsible for what you do with this information. The opinions I express in this video are not for everyone and are not intended as a learning tool. It hurts like hell when you pour alcohol on an open wound but I figure if you have a deep cut you're already in pain and bleeding, so you'll need to suck it up, clean it up, and wrap it up. As well as seeking medical attention ASAP. As far as alcohol poisoning from pouring drinking alcohol pretty much directly into your blood stream goes, I feel like it's not enough to cause any problems even with the stronger alcohols unless you are allergic to alcohol. I don't know for sure but it might have an added effect to it as well, maybe taking some of the pain away for a short time. If you do decide to take a look into this I've heard that you want to use clear vodka, no coloring or flavoring, and as close to pure alcohol as you can find meaning the strong stuff. I would advise doing your own research. Hope you enjoyed watching!

Well alcohol is a high value item post SHTF. Can be used for barter, sterilization, libation and fuel to name just some of the uses

I use A LOT of vodka for liver workouts and other uses. I am good with this. I have 27 bottles of vodka in longterm storage, all different varieties, just in case for barter.

Anything can be used in a SHTF scenario. There are better disinfectants than alcohol but, it will work in a pinch. There are many better uses for it to include barter and as a social drink as others have mentioned.if your plan is to use it to kill germs then as high of a purity level as you can get is what will work best.

Just a NOTE, here: 100 Proof alcohol is only 50% Ethyl Alcohol.... 200 Proof is 100% Ethyl Alcohol, which is just about impossible to make. Back in a Previous Life, as a NitroOrganic Chemist, I had a 55USG Drum of 195 Proof, Reagent Grade Ethyl Alcohol in my Lab. We had an ATF Form, to account for every drop, that came out of that supply. One of my jobs was to account for the evaporation, from the Drum. Usually that increased "significantly" after Finals Week. Sure mixed well with Orange Juice..... ...... YMMV....

be careful using the alcohol in the 55 gallon drums at labs. A lot of that stuff is denatured and not safe to drink. You can get pretty sick from it and I'm not talking a hangover lol

Speaking of mixers. I just recently rediscovered "Squirt". I haven't seen it in the stores for decades (yes I am olde). Local grocery store had it. Use as you would pepsi or coke, as in "Rum and Coke". It is not sickly sweet like 7up or sprite. 140 calories to a 12 ounce can. As long as I can get it, it will be my personal mixer.

Many people are not aware of this fact and become very ill.

very true PAGUY, also people making batches will add it so it seems like it only has more alc % in it. Most peoples bodies cant digest the methyl in it and thats why the liver shuts down and then they shut down. Ethyl is the good stuff, just be careful if your either brewing yourself or getting something not professionally made. Do your research

Also I work in a lab, if anyone has any questions about these kind of things I can either PM or email you a MSDS sheet if you cant find one on your own.
