Does anybody know the shelf life of Maruchen Noodle Soup (eg. Chicken)?
I have some with a code of 01165HA. That would lead me to believe that it was produced in 2001 on the 165th day (June 13th). Thanks a lot.

Ramen noodles have been found in the ruins of bachelor huts from paleoithic times and were still delicious. There are reports that spice packets of mastadon flavored noodles complete with dehydrated atalatal point were located in la Brea. Hope this helps. :D

    Oh my God, Quig.........

You, you sick twisted mutant, a Ramen site? I loooove it, that proves ANYTHING is on the net.

Ramen makes the world go round!!

As for shelf life, I always take several cases along when I do hurricane relief or travel rugged with the work trailer. The noodles will reconstitute for at least a millenia, couple months ago chopped up some craw dads in some shrimp Ramen left over from Ivan that was actually bought in 2000 as stock for the trailer. I think as long as moisture is minimal and the sacks integrity is good, wouldn't scare me to go 10yrs on a bag. Noodles get a little darker with age, but still taste like cardboard until you drown them in the salty flavor sack (I add butter if I can, too).

AW hell,I didn't want to bring this up but I had a pack I left in my backpack that when I looked at had maggots in it.

OK, so what does that mean? Well I guess at some point the pack was exposed to flies and the food inside sustained the larve, so is might have been my mistake.

Still it was really gross. I don't know if I can ever eat another pack again.

    Although maggots=protein.

Keep them cool and dry and they should last awhile. Have seen several posts over the last few years that mention their fat content and that they can go rancid if left in higher humidity locations where temps go much over the 70's. Take precautions and be aware.

I ate so many of them in college I can hardly even think about them. I did start eating mac & cheese again though so maybe I aught to give the Ramen another try! I did like the shrimp flavored noodles.

Kept cool and dry they should last a year or so. The seasoning packets have A LOT of salt and MSG, a no no for people with high blood pressure heart problems. Try to use natural stock with them.

I understand that instead of salt tablets the ramen noodles and spice packet will replace the same amount of salt...
